Go wild this winter at the Maritime Museum with exhibitions, vessels, hands-on workshops, themed creative activities, collaborative LEGO® building, films and more. It’s a whole day of fun for the whole family!

Epic Whale Build

Roll up your sleeves and join The Brickman team as we build something truly epic, a three-metre-tall breaching humpback whale made entirely of LEGO® bricks, rising right out of the museum floor! Work side by side with fellow builders in one of eight action-packed, 40-minute sessions each day.

Just bring your passion for LEGO®, your best team spirit, and get ready to help us create something unforgettable.

Great Southern Lego® Reef

Unleash your inner builder! Construct the enchanting Weedy Seadragon and explore Australia's secret Great Southern Reef with LEGO®!

 

Daily during school holidays, 10.00am – 4.00pm

Suitable for ages 4–12 years with accompanying adults

Deep Sea Screenings

Relax in our theatre with calming, creative activities. Try scientific sketching using our field guide and pencils, or watch deep-sea ROV footage from the Schmidt Ocean Institute.

Weaving Wednesdays with Wanita Lowe

Join Dunghutti Biripi artist and educator Wanita Lowe as she shares her beautiful artmaking, stories and weaving practices. Learn techniques to create your own unique piece to take home at these drop-in open-age workshops.

Fintastic Fridays – Dress up disco day

Grab your fins and tails! Celebrate mermaids and sharks inspired by the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, with costumes, photo ops with a real-life mermaid, a shark puppet and tunes by our Jellyfish DJ.
