About the unveiling ceremony
Australia’s National Monument to Migration stands in honour of families who have migrated to Australia with names engraved in bronze. Currently there are over 30,000 names on the Welcome Wall with representation from over 129 countries.
The museum holds ceremonies to recognise the most recent inscriptions on the Wall.
New donors to the Migration Heritage Fund to the, their families and friends are invited to this celebration of their life-changing journeys to Australia.
The ceremony provides guests with the opportunity to view the panel for the first time in what is always a moving and festive ceremony. The event sees different family generations gather together to reflect on and celebrate their cultural heritage.
Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak and in the interest of public safety the museum has made the decision to postpone the Welcome Wall Unveiling ceremony until further notice.
