Stroll along the waterfront and jump on board our vessels, walk in the footsteps of our early explorers on the HMB Endeavour or descend below the depths of the sea in our submarine HMAS Onslow.

Cafe relocation
From 2 March to 11 April, Ripples at the Maritime Museum will be temporarily relocating to the Terrace Room, located to the right of the Museum’s front desk.
During this time, we will be renovating our existing café space to introduce an exciting new offering - HarbourWatch. We look forward to welcoming you in the Terrace Room while these works are underway.
Availability and closures
Sometimes we may need to temporarily close areas of the museum - for maintenance, improvements or safety reasons. We thank you for your understanding and hope you enjoy the many adventures the museum offers.
Museum galleries:
- Partial closure - A section of our Navy Gallery will be temporarily closed from 2–27 February while we install a new display commemorating 125 years of the Australian Navy. We look forward to unveiling this refreshed experience when it opens on 28 February.
Vessel availability:
Check with our friendly staff on the day of your visit to confirm which vessels are open each day.
- Duyfken is currently undergoing maintenance on the ship’s bow and the masts have been taken down. This work is crucial to maintain the seaworthiness of the vessel. It is currently open for public visitation dependant on staff availability, but is unavailable for public sails or events. See our front of house team on the day of your visit for more information.
- Endeavour - extensive work is being undertaken on the standing rigging, however this work should not impact public visitation. The construction and replacement are expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
