The Australian National Maritime Museum will mark NSW Children’s Week with a bumper three days of its popular Mini Mariners program especially for preschoolers and their carers. Children can enjoy a special program of interactive learning fun including character guided themed tours through the museum, arts and crafts, touch trolley and the opportunity to explore the museum’s vessels (height restrictions apply).

And to celebrate this special week the museum is offering preschoolers FREE entry and a discounted rate of just $15 for their carers to experience everything the museum has to offer.

A full program of fun is planned for your little ones with plenty of child friendly facilities and dining option including:

Mini Mariners tours – 30 minute character guided themed tours with movement, music, and storytelling - especially for ages 18 months – 6 years, every day at 10am, 10.45am, 11.30am and 12pm.

Creative activity space – art making, sensory play, experiments, dress ups and games - Open 10am – 1pm
Ships, Clocks and Stars activity back packs – follow a special activity trail with educational toys, costumes and your favourite nursery rhymes to lead the way. All day 9.30am – 5pm  

Interactive on touch trolley – get hands on with sea creature specimens and sea creature percussion at the cabinet of curiosities touch trolley. Open 10am – 1pm

Aqua babies – Relax in a sensory theatrette space inspired by undersea environments especially for pre-walkers. Open 10am – 2pm 
Mini Mariners Play gallery – enjoy our permanent under 6s space with interactive games, puppetry, books and more to explore. Open 9.30am – 5pm
Explore the vessels, climb the lighthouse – for young visitors and their carers who are 90cm and up - Please note no baby carriers or prams permitted on the vessels for safety reasons - Open 9.30am – 5pm 

Mini Yums at Yots café – enjoy a special menu of quick, affordable and toddler friendly meals especially for children’s week. Open 9.30am – 5pm 

Feeding and changing areas - The museum has three baby change areas and will open up an additional parenting room especially for your feeding needs during this event. 

Access to the museum for the Mini Mariners NSW Children’s Week activities is FREE for children under six and $15 for carers. This includes the children week activities and everything else the museum has to offer (subject to meeting height restrictions).
