Our museums help keep our collective memory alive. If we lost even one of these important institutions, it would be like someone had blown out a candle or turned out the lights on a vital piece of our society.

Earlier this year, Foundation funds helped us acquire an important watercolour of one of Australia’s most iconic structures, the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the year when we celebrate its 90^th anniversary. Auctioned in England, we are now seeking your support to help us meet the costs of bringing it home to Australia.

 

The second theme of this year’s campaign is our Fleet. The museum has one of the largest collections of historic vessels in the world and we are seeking your support that they remain working examples of our maritime heritage.
