Pyrmont Walk – Changing Places 

The Junior Pyrmont Walk delivers a case study highlighting the changing nature of the community of Pyrmont, factors that have given rise to these changes and the community's response to some of these changes.

Specifically focussing on economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Pyrmont area, students are encouraged to consider the likely implications of future development for the local community throughout the walk.

Program structure

Museum educators take students on a guided walk through the streets of Pyrmont beginning and ending at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

With the use of photographs of Pyrmont's past, students will see the evolving changes that are still occurring in the area. They'll visit various locations and are given the opportunity to ask questions, take photographs and complete a specially designed resource pack for use before, during and after their visit.

Booking information

Duration: 120 minute session for an Educator led walk
Cost: $225 per group with a maximum of 15 students
Ratio: A supervisor/student ratio of 1:15 applies
Availability: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

Teachers and supervising adults visit FREE of charge within the ratios specified in Plan Your School Visit.
