PROGRAM FOR THE DAY
Start time: Sensory Friendly Sundays access starts at 8.30am.
You are welcome to arrive anytime before 11am and stay as long as you like.
Play with archaeological dig sites, puzzles, bubbles, slime and more and create your own art works in Kids on Deck activity space (drop-in activities, open to 3pm).
Enjoy guided access with our friendly staff to the Sea Monsters exhibition (with exclusive access for SFS guests before 9.30am).
Sound and light levels in upper galleries have been modified to promote a more enjoyable experience up until 12pm today.
This is a relaxed event so guests are welcome to arrive at any time that suits their schedule. Guests are advised that the galleries will become busier and noisier towards 12pm onwards though so early morning visits will provide a more enjoyable experience.
Main doors to the museum open. If you arrive after this time you can register with our staff at the main counter and collect a sensory friendly map.
Enjoy the exhibitions, visit the Cabinet of Curiosities touch trolley or the Sea Monsters exhibition, take a trail or enjoy a chill out time in one of our quiet spaces.
Cabinet of Curiosities touch trolley opens (drop-in program with tactile objects and artefacts).
Sensory friendly access ends.
Your ticket gives you all-day access to the museum and creative activities (activities are open to 3pm) so you are welcome to stay and play, but note that the galleries will be noisier and busier from this time.
Sensory friendly Sunday is a new program at the museum. We'd love your feedback, so will send all attendees a short survey after the event for you to share your ideas.
