Creative and educational activities for 2-5 year-olds and their parents/carers.
Explore the galleries, sing and dance in interactive tours with costumed guides. Enjoy creative free play, craft, games and story time in our themed activity area.
Entry to Mini mariners includes access to exhibitions that are within the tour. During school holidays it also includes access to our Kids on Deck activity space.
Booked playgroups welcome.

Let’s slip, slap, slop and head to the seashore. Discover intertidal animals and beach life as we sing, dance and tour through the museum’s galleries all the way to The Beach exhibition.
Settle in for a musical story time, then get hands-on with craft and sensory play. Decorate your own silly starfish sunglasses, create a jellyfish sculpture or make a crafty crab puppet to take home.

February - Drip, Drop, Splash!
Every Tuesday 3, 10, 17 and 24
Saturdays 16 and 21
Swish, Bubble, Splash and Dive into the wonderful world of water in a character guided through the museum galleries. Discover stories about water and how we use it every day. Sing songs, enjoy messy play activities and make your own bubble painting to take home.

March – Pirates Ahoy
Every Tuesday 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31
Saturdays 14 and 21
Let's follow the treasure map around the museum to find the secret treasure cave. Learn how to sing, dance and scrub the deck like a pirate. Then you can decorate your own pirate hat or parrot puppet to take home and enjoy some special pirate science experiments.
