Dear Little Penguin’s on the outer islands...

I am flipper writing to you from your mainland feather clan, knowing the tides and currents, will carry this message to you, safely beak tight shut, in this hooman bottle thing we found.

We hope you have a clear sky and a cool calm ocean, with lots of fishes and squid. And the sky fire dries your feathers- not too quick. Also, that the scary roaring things that float and move fast don't come close or land on your beaches. And that the frisky foxes and scratch cats haven’t found your burrow homes. We hope that you flat foot waddle around freely, belly full good.

Our flipper hold on the mainland is a bit thin. We can see this problem now. But our hearts do not wobble. We fast swim in the ocean, with squid speed ease, and at the dusk sky, we quick glide to the beach and feed our little hatchlings. We’ll find a safe path to the dawn sky of a new day. Even though in recent skies, some of us don’t come home to our lifelong mate.

But we are all little penguins! Fast waddlers and swimmers. Belly full good hunters, and most hoomans do love us, and some work hard for us, (these ones are actually cosy burrow good!) They also teach their own little hatchlings all things about us. We look to these big and small hoomans to paddle in an even brighter new dawn sky- for all things with fur, scales or skin, feathers, spines, or fins. This is what we have eye spied, this is what we sense on the current, this is the new day hope we share with you.

Yours in welcome waddles

Feffy of the mainland feather clan.
