International school highlights tour

School groups visiting from overseas will  enjoy a 60-minute Highlights tour at our amazing harbourside museum. Students will learn how Australia has been shaped by the sea as they experience the sights from our outdoors boardwalk, go on board ships, and explore our stunning indoor exhibitions.

Tours are in English and led by our professional museum educators. 

Included in the tour is:

  • Access to the top deck of the museum’s replica of the tallship HMB Endeavour (subject to availability).
  • A visit to the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse (subject to availability)
  • Access to all of the museum’s galleries about Australian maritime history and culture.
  • A student worksheet and teacher guide booklet, both in English, to help scaffold learning.
  • A certificate of participation!

Cost

$300 per group of 15 students.  

Free for teachers and supervising adults within the required supervision ratio.

Accessibility

This program is conducted within the main museum building, along the wharves and on board one of the tall ships.  

  • There is ramp and lift access to all exhibition spaces within the main museum building.  
  • The museum’s tall ships are not wheelchair accessible.
  • Alternative arrangements can be made for wheelchair users to experience the program from the wharf.
