Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February 2023, 10am – 4pm
Celebrate Lunar New Year at the Maritime Museum with captivating cultural performances, creative family-friendly workshops, tours and trails.

Join guest artists to learn amazing techniques in traditional Calligraphy, Chinese Painting and Opera Face Mask Painting. Enjoy outdoor performances of traditional Chinese Instruments and Lion dance.

Program presented in partnership with the China Cultural Centre.

 

Saturday 4 February

Workshops and performances by China Cultural Centre

10am – Chinese Calligraphy Workshop

11am – Opening ceremony and Performance

11.45am – Chinese Opera mask painting

2pm – Chinese painting workshop

3pm – Dance or music performance

3.30pm – Folding Fan painting workshop

 

Sunday 5 February

11.15am – 3.15pm – Kids on Deck- Lunar Sea artmaking space

Create your own paper lanterns, shadow puppets and dragon boat models.

Kids on Deck is free entry for Sunday 5 February, drop in sessions, ages 2- 14 and accompanying adults.
