Every school holidays, we host full-day workshops for kids to learn creative skills. Aimed at kids aged 8-14, courses range from photography, animation and print-making to videography. These summer holidays join us for two a 2-day workshops in TV presenting, or a 1-day photography workshop.
Creative Workshop: Underwater Explorers - TV presenting workshop (2 days)
Wednesday 15 & Thursday 16 January, 2020 | 10am – 4pm
Explore the world beneath the surface as you capture footage on our underwater drones and use it to create your own imaginative TV segments. Be inspired by prehistoric ocean environments featured in our Sea Monsters exhibition. Learn clever techniques in green-screen, scripting, directing, acting and film-making as you produce your own creative digital stories. Have your finished work displayed for family and friends in a special-event cinema screening.
Suitable for all levels of experience.

Creative Workshop: Photo Pros (1 day)
Thursday 23 January | 9.30am – 5.30pm
Take your photography skills to the next level in this 1-day intensive course. Be inspired by the museum's scenic surrounds as you go on outdoor photo shoots and master the art of shooting dark indoor spaces, moving subjects, macro photography and more. Learn to use manual modes on a digital SLR camera as well as photo editing skills, then have your finished work displayed in a special exhibition at the museum.

Arrive in the museum foyer for registration 5–10 minutes prior to the program.
Parents/carers will be required to sign permission forms on the day.
Participants are fully supervised for this program.
Participants should bring their own lunch/snacks.
All equipment for the workshop is provided.
