Every school holidays, we host full-day workshops for kids to learn creative skills. Aimed at kids aged 8-14, courses include photography, animation, print-making and videography. These autumn holidays join us for two 2-day workshops in photography and videography, or a 1-day workshop on claymation.

Creative Workshop: Claymation Creations

Discover how to produce your own stop-motion and clay animations inspired by our exhibitions on show in this fun-filled 1 day workshop. Create your own animation to share and have your work featured on the museum’s YouTube channel.

Creative Workshop: Monster Mash Film Workshop

Wed 9 & Thurs 10 October 2019 | 10am – 4.30pm

Create and star in your own imaginative short film inspired by classic aquatic thrillers and our new Sea Monsters exhibition. Learn clever techniques in green-screen, scripting, directing, acting and special effects in film-making as you produce your own creative digital stories. Have your finished work displayed for family and friends in a special-event cinema screening.

General information

  • Arrive in the museum foyer for registration 5–10 minutes prior to the program.

  • Parents/carers will be required to sign permission forms on the day.

  • Participants are fully supervised for this program.

  • Participants should bring their own lunch/snacks.

  • All equipment for the workshop is provided.

  • Wear suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and sun protection for outdoors
