Professor Matthew England

Matthew England is a keen swimmer and surfer who discovered as a teenager that his love for the oceans could be turned into a career as a physical oceanographer. Since then, he has voyaged the world’s oceans making measurements at sea, and combining maths and other branches of science to study how the oceans move large amounts of heat, carbon, and freshwater around our planet. Matthew is passionate about STEM education and protecting our oceans from climate change and other human-induced threats.
