Learning to read pictures with Pamela Freeman
Join us for this special interactive webinar, with award-winning author, Pamela Freeman!
Pamela will tell us about how she works closely with her illustrator, explain how she turns ideas into books, and share a sneak peek of how she researched her new book about The Great Barrier Reef and solved the challenges of writing about the underwater world.
Be sure to have a pencil (or pen) and paper ready, as Pamela will teach us how to turn pictures into words. Later you can turn the words back into pictures with illustrations.
Students will have a chance to ask Pamela their questions during the webinar.
This session will start at 2pm for all states observing Australian Eastern Standard Time (NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic & Tas), 1.30pm for Schools in SA and NT and 12pm for WA.
About the author
Pamela is a multi-award winning author of more than 50 books and novellas. Her last children’s book was Seed to Sky: Life in the Daintree, the fifth of her non-fiction natural history picture books. She is well known for her children’s fantasy, including Victor’s Quest and Victor’s Challenge, and the Princess Betony series.
Pamela is also director of creative writing at the Australian Writers’ Centre.
