Shipwrecked! Creative writing workshop

Webinar

Celebrate Book Week by writing your very own story.

Inspired by the drama and turmoil of real shipwreck tales, this step-by-step workshop guides students in writing their own adventure story on the high seas. Students use sensory writing to respond to shipwreck artefacts from the museum's collections, learn about the hyperbole involved in sailor's sea stories and begin the composition of an imaginative fictional text.

Materials required:

  • Download and print the worksheet for each student to use during the session or have blank paper ready.

  • Pencils.

This session will start at 2pm for all states observing Australian Eastern Standard Time (NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic & Tas), 1.30pm for Schools in SA and NT and 12pm for WA.
