Bring your classroom to life with Navigators and step into Australia’s maritime past!

The Navigators and Traders Learning Hub is a free learning resource that explores how different cultures have used navigation to connect with other places and people. It has been designed for use in the classroom by primary school students and teachers around the country.

The series of modules cover navigation and trade by First Nations Australians,  significant European maritime voyages to Australia, different methods of navigation, and the use of maps and images to represent journeys.

The combination of animations, interactive maps, activities and photographs from the Museum’s national collection will engage young learners to build a deeper understanding of how our country has been shaped by the sea.
