Media statement - National Day of Mourning
Published

On Thursday, 22 January, the Museum will observe the National Day of Mourning to honour the victims and all those impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.
In conjunction with the theme ‘Light will win, a gathering of unity and remembrance’ the museum will join with fellow national and state institutions in lighting the building.
The museum will light the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse.
The lighthouse will be lit from sundown until midnight as a symbol of mourning, remembrance, and national unity.
Flags around the museum will also be flown at half-mast.
As the nation comes together in our chosen ways on the 22nd, we will pause to remember and reaffirm a determination for light to triumph over darkness.
