Hello and welcome to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, developed by The Natural History Museum and sponsored by OM System.
Returning for its 60th year direct from the Natural History Museum in London, this extraordinary showcase invites you to witness the awe-inspiring diversity of life on Earth and the urgent need for its protection.
This year’s competition attracted an astounding 59,228 entries from 117 countries. Just 100 images were chosen across multiple categories, including Animals in Their Environment, Underwater, and Photojournalism. This exhibition will take you on a journey through Earth’s most extraordinary moments.
Photography has the power to inspire change. Wildlife Photographer of the Year not only showcases stunning imagery but also sparks important conversations about conservation, biodiversity, and the future of our planet. Each photo serves as a reminder of both nature’s splendour and its fragility.
This exhibition contains audio description for category winners and wall-mounted 3d images you can explore through touch. Audio described and touch opportunities are signposted by tactile floor panels throughout the exhibition.
Scan the QR code on the wall in each location to listen. Five wall mounted touch panels are located on your left as you navigate around the temporary walls central to the exhibition.
There are 19 Audio described category winner descriptions with corresponding floor panel indicators. 7 winners are positioned around the room’s periphery, 9 are accessible from the centrally positioned walls and 4 more are displayed at the rear of the exhibition, on either side of two freestanding parallel walls.
Content warning: Some images depict animal cruelty and death. Visitors who wish to avoid these images should steer clear of the Photojournalism and Photojournalist Story Award sections located towards the end of the walk-through path, on the rear of the central temporary walls.
Thank you and we hope you enjoy the exhibition
