Hi there! It’s been a while since I last wrote, as life has been rather busy. I’ve started some new duties recently. My human colleagues call this ‘job creep’ and seem not to like it, but I’m happy – we border collies like to be occupied!
I have a new routine every weekday morning, when my Fleet colleagues let me off the lead in the marina area while it’s still fenced off to the public. I really enjoy running up and down and chasing any seagulls that are cheeky enough to hang around.
I like being around boats, because where there are boats there are also seagulls!
Our dedicated volunteers now regularly take me on a walk around the museum for a ‘meet and greet’, and our Kids on Deck staff also do a meet and greet with me every day during school holidays at 2.30 pm – so if you’re at the museum, keep an eye out for me. I’d love to say hello!
I often go home now with some of my colleagues. N often takes me home overnight or for the weekend, which is great. First we go for a nice long drive and then I get to run around her huge backyard with her dog Princess. A while back we went to Ulladulla for breakfast at a café and a lovely long swim.
Other times J takes me home for a sleepover. She has a small apartment, but it’s still big enough for us to play chasey and for me to romp on her furniture.
To get there we go by ferry. I love the ferry! There are so many windborne new smells to enjoy and interesting things to see (and often to bark at), such as kayaks and other boats, plenty of seagulls of course, and the seal that often relaxes on the Opera House steps. J tells me she has even seen dolphins in the harbour three times recently. I’m keeping my paws crossed that I see some, too.
